Elke Van Der Kelen
Space is running like a red thread through the work of Elke Van Der Kelen. She studied architecture in Brussels and theatre at the Toneelacademie of Maastricht. The impact of the scenography and the relation between performance space and the space for the audience play a huge rol in every project. Elke likes to play with the boundaries between architecture, theatre, visual arts and (for her) new disciplines such as robotics. Currently she is working on the installation ‘A Play of Space I’. A performative installation that wants to show, manipulate and question the relationship we have with space.
Ruimte loopt als een rode draad door het werk van Elke Van Der Kelen. Ze studeerde architectuur in Brussel en theater aan de Toneelacademie van Maastricht. De impact van de scenografie en de relatie tussen performanceruimte en de ruimte voor het publiek spelen een grote rol in elk project. Elke speelt graag met de grenzen tussen architectuur, theater, beeldende kunst en (voor haar) nieuwe disciplines zoals robotica. Momenteel werkt ze aan de installatie ‘A Play of Space I’. Een performatieve installatie die de relatie die we hebben met ruimte wil laten zien, manipuleren en bevragen.
