The Prototheek is a digital and physical archive. In the Prototheek, not only know-ledge and information are stored, but also prototypes, materials and objects. The Prototheek preserves the knowledge that Werktank artists gain during a creation process, and the prototypes and (semi-finished) objects that they make during this process.

Polarisation Filter

When you remove the polarization filter from an LCD screen, you will only get a white glowing image. When you put the filter back in place, the image reappears.
With larger and newer screens it was almost impossible to remove the filter.

In the Prototheek there are 3 small dismantled screens without a polarizing filter, a number of 17 inch screens that can still be dismantled and some residual polarizing filter.
