‘Ça aurait la longueur d’un trait bleu’ is an installation project mixing kite flying, photography, mechanical printing and textile assembly. The work involves both sides of the ocean and everywhere in between, with the help of sailboats and airplanes.
A kite carries a camera, throws a glance towards the sea from up there in the sky.
Then a machine prints this body of water as a stretch of blue ink.
This line floats in space and divides it.
No matter how complex our techniques or how hard we work, the distances we have to cover are incompressible: they remain. And sometimes, we pass through them.
The world seems at once gigantic and tiny.
It could be the length of a blue line.

‘Ça aurait la longueur d’un trait bleu’ is een installatieproject waarin vliegeren, fotografie, mechanisch printen en textielassemblage worden gecombineerd. Het werk omvat beide kanten van de oceaan en alles daartussenin, met behulp van zeilboten en vliegtuigen.
Een vlieger draagt een camera, werpt een blik op de zee vanuit de lucht.
Vervolgens drukt een machine deze watermassa af als een stuk blauwe inkt.
Deze lijn zweeft in de ruimte en verdeelt deze.
Hoe complex onze technieken of hoe hard we ook werken, de afstanden die we moeten overbruggen zijn niet samendrukbaar: ze blijven. En soms passeren we ze.
De wereld lijkt tegelijk gigantisch en klein.
Het kan de lengte zijn van een blauwe lijn.
